Czech seven-time Olympic champion gymnast Vera Caslavska, a star of a 1964 Games in Tokyo, has died. She was 74.

Known in Japan as a “love of Tokyo” for her triple bullion award opening in 1964, when she won a particular all-around, lamp and equine vault, Caslavska stole a hearts of Japanese fans with her jaunty bravery and beauty, while moving a era of immature people to take adult a sport.

“She was truly a pleasing and glamorous athlete,” pronounced Kiyoko Ono, one of Caslavska’s competitors in 1964 who went on to turn a member of Japan’s House of Councillors and Japanese Olympic Committee clamp president.
