Sunderland manager David Moyes has been given a one-match touchline ban by the Football Association after admitting a misconduct charge.
The Black Cats next play at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
The FA said Moyes, 53, “used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official” in a 1-0 EFL Cup defeat at Southampton on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the 90th minute, after the referee waved away a Sunderland penalty appeal.
Moyes, who was appointed as Sunderland boss in July and has managed only two points from nine league games, will also be fined £8,000, the FA said.
