England women boss Mark Sampson will take charge of Tuesday’s friendly with Euro 2017 hosts the Netherlands after returning from paternity leave.

Assistant Marieanne Spacey and coach Lee Kendall led the camp in his absence but Sampson has arrived in Tilburg for England’s final friendly of 2016.

The Koning Willem II Stadion is the venue for England’s final Euro 2017 group match with Portugal next summer.

“That familiarisation will be so important,” said Spacey.

“Even down to the logistical things such as finding out the distance from the hotel to the ground.”

Arsenal striker Jodie Taylor is in the 23-woman squad after struggling with injury this season, but injured defender Casey Stoney, who has 129 caps, and Fran Kirby have been left out.
